A former cocktail waitress accused Governor Jim Gibbons of accosting her in October, 2006 and then covering it up when she went public. Recently, a federal judge refused to throw the case out.
According to the suit, Gibbons grabbed her in a parking garage then had police and associates destroy the evidence for him. The judge has also rejected arguments stating that the police and associates involved should be immune for acting in their official capacity. If the claims are proven true, all of the parties involved could be facing serious criminal penalties.
